Important Recommendation concerning Annual Salary Review - Follow-up

To follow up on our message of April 14, 2012 on the postponement of performance evaluation meetings, we now have a date: Friday, April 27th, for a meeting between APS and CBC representatives to resolve the question of ratings changed after the fact. We appreciate your cooperation, assuring you that we will come back to you after the meeting. Until then our recommendation to delay the PMSD process still stands.

OUR RECOMMENDATION FOR THIS YEAR'S PERFORMANCE EVALUATION MEETING - 2012

Last year APS had asked its members to abstain from the final performance evaluation meeting with their supervisors in order to correct problems related to compensation. This year, discussions are still going on while some of you are being called to meet their supervisors for the annual performance evaluation review.

ON-CALL RATES AND WORK OBJECTIVES

January first will be the start date for the new rates for on-call employees. Pursuant to the agreement reached between the Corporation and APS, the on-call maximum will be raised from 7000,00$ to 9000,00$ on January 1, 2012.

A reminder about a previous communication on our site: work objectives negotiated between employees and supervisors are still going on. APS posted its recommendation to support the exercise last summer (7/18/’11) and we are continuing to do so.

WORKING OBJECTIVES 2011-2012

To answer questions related to APS’s position regarding working objectives for 2011-2012 period, we wish to remind our members about our action undertaken last spring. APS had asked its members to refrain from participating in the annual performance evaluation review covering the 2010-2011; we are referring, of course, to the meeting with the immediate supervisor. There was never a call to abstain from fixing working objectives for the year 2011-2012.

On-Line pay stubs – APS honours this initiative

CBC/Radio-Canada advises us that effective May 19, 2011, online pay stubs will officially replace paper ones at CBC/Radio-Canada. This initiative, aimed at reducing our environmental footprint, will affect all employees. Online pay stubs can already be accessed on HR @ my fingertips.

Switching to an exclusively online pay notification system is not only a green way to go, but it is also a convenient and secure way of communicating total compensation information to all employees. An official communique will be sent to employees in the week of March 22nd.

Modification to the "On-Call Policy"

Following a modification to the collective agreement, our “On-Call” maximum has been increased to reach $7000.00 starting January 1, 2011. Through the National Joint Committee both parties agreed to raise the previous ceiling which had been set at $5000.00. A further increase will be implemented January I, 2012 to fix the maximum amount allotted to employees at $9000.00. A letter of agreement was ratified accordingly to replace the last paragraph of art. 18.2.1 of the APS collective agreement.
